Director of Communications
Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by promoting awareness and positioning CHAS Health as a leader in the health care community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manages Communications team, providing leadership and expertise to accomplish departmental goals.
- Develops, implements and maintains cohesive branding strategy to promote CHAS Health awareness and market positioning.
- Identifies key internal and external communication needs and develops, evaluates and implements strategies to optimize communication across all channels.
- Provides direction for all marketing efforts including creative and budget management.
- Manages the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic messaging including website, intranet,   screens, phone, video, brochures and social media.
- Manages relationships with key community partners, including serving as point of contact for media.
- Manages internal and external events.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or Business Administration; or minimum of 5 years equivalent experience required. Communications or marketing experience in non-profit healthcare industry preferred. Prior event planning experience required.

Other Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills required. Experience managing variety of key initiatives concurrently. Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies. Ability to build and maintain relationships. Ability to work independently. Creative thinker with proven leadership skills.

Physical Demands:
Required to stand, sit and be mobile up to one-third of the time. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time; while reaching with hands and arms occurs one-third of the day. Required to read from text and computer screen over two-thirds of the time. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs less than one-third of the time. Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day. Lifting occurs about half the time up to 10 lbs. and less than one-third of the day from 25-40 lbs. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 41 lbs.
