Registered Dietitian
This position will work between our Lewiston and Moscow Clinics
Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing counseling to patients on good nutrition habits for their particular situation as follows:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with providers to coordinate medical and nutritional needs.
- Establishes treatment plans to promote healthy eating and nutritional needs and communicates with patients regarding program compliance or to suggest diet modifications.
- Meets directly with patients to identify educational needs; provide instruction either individually or in a group setting, utilizes informational handouts/booklets, or refers to community resources as needed.
- Participates in various patient program committees.
- Performs nutritional screenings and offer advice on diet-related concerns such as weight-loss or cholesterol reduction.
- Performs research and recommends ways to expand and improve nutrition programs.
- Participates in quality improvement of the program in conjunction with other services CHAS offers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field required. Must be a Washington
State Registered Dietitian. Certified Diabetes or HIV Educator preferred. Experience in chronic disease
including HIV and Diabetes and/or maternity nutrition counseling preferred.

Skills: Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Computer skills required.

Physical Demands:
Dietitian must be able to move around the facility between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the day, as well as sit at a workstation or in patient rooms. Using hands occurs over 2/3rds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than 1/3rd of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3rds of the day, while climbing, stooping or crawling is minimal. Lifting up to 10 lbs occurs about half the time, while up to and above 25 lbs. occurs only occasionally.
