Responsible for the daily operations of risk management including coordination of all claims, developing timelines, composing response letters and tracking trends and activities.  Identifies and analyzes loss exposures, measures the financial impact of risks and implements appropriate risk management policies.  Develops, runs, reviews and presents risk management reports for designated committees and work teams. Maintains accurate and detailed records and claim files. Assists in response to requests for interrogatories related to claims and litigation. Conducts risk assessments and assists with the malpractice insurance application process. Coordinates employed physician risk management education and orientation. Conducts and oversees Root Cause Analysis processes when indicated and follows up on action plans.  Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.


 Minimum Qualifications:

1.     Bachelor's degree required.

2.     Minimum of 4 years healthcare experience.

3.     Knowledge of ID Notice of Tort regulations required.

Work Environment: 

·         Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.

·         Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
