About the Department
Neonatal care at Kootenai Health is designed for babies who need special monitoring and medical attention. Our NICU can care for babies born as early as 28 weeks gestation, and those as small as 2.2 pounds. Our team includes multiple clinical staff, including an on-site medical director, specialized nursing staff, board-certified neonatologists, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, registered dieticians, pharmacists, and social workers who emphasis in prenatal and neonatal challenges.

·         12 Private Rooms, including two twin rooms
·         Average patient turnover/day: 50 percent at 150 births/month
About the Job
As the Supervisor of NICU Respiratory Care you will oversee and coordinate the day to day respiratory care activities in the NICU ensuring effective and efficient operations.  In this job you function as a respiratory resource and an integrated member of the multidisciplinary NICU care team.  You will collaborate with other NICU care team members in the creation of care policies, procedures and care plans, assuring that these are evidence based and consistent with recognized industry best practice.
·         Works cooperatively and collaboratively with NICU medical staff and all other members of the NICU care team. 
·         Assures that all members of the NICU respiratory care team have objective assessment of required competencies performed and documented at prescribed intervals. 
·         Participates in annual performance appraisal process for all NICU RCPs.  
·         Maintains respiratory care quality assurance/ PI programs for the NICU. 
·         Maintains all standards for state and federal regulations. 
·         Leads and directs the work of others.
Minimum Qualifications:
·         Associate's Degree required.  Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care, Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related area preferred.
·         Minimum of three years' experience in NICU Respiratory Care required.
·         2 years supervisory experience preferred.
·         Recent experience on Labor & Delivery High Risk Delivery Team preferred.
·         Experience and proficiency in Neonatal Intubation preferred.
·         Experience and proficiency in implementation of High Frequency Oscillator Ventilation in for the neonate preferred.
·         RRT required.
·         State of Idaho Respiratory Care license required.
·         NRP and Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty Credential (NPS) required.
