WALDEN HOUSE ATTENDANT
Job Description
Acts as caretaker of the Walden House.  Responsible for care and maintenance of the facility.  Monitors house for needed repairs, other maintenance issues and sufficient levels of supplies.  Welcomes and orients guests to the Walden House.  May provide emotional support and direction during a crisis situation (under the supervision of Social Services).  Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor.  Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
1.      High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2.      Energetic and able to handle crisis, emergencies and troubleshoot problems
3.      Strong organizational skills
 
Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements):
·        Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
·        On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift, must navigate stairs.
·        Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy equipment up to 10 pounds.
·        Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials.
·        Ability to write clearly and legibly on all reports, timesheets, forms and other written communication used within the department.
Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
 
Work Environment: 
·        Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
·        Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
